Medical/Legal
When accidents happen lives are changed forever. In the blink of an eye, an automobile accident, a fall or a work injury can cost a person their jobs, their health and their future. The call they make after an accident can make all the difference. The Florida Injury Centers can help accident victims obtain all the care they need to get them back on the road to recovery.
Treatment Approach
Florida Injury Centers employ an integrated approach to treatment merging the conservative therapeutic modalities customary within the field of chiropractic with the more invasive procedures and techniques utilized by members of the medical profession.
Depending upon the injuries present, after examination, x-ray, imaging studies and diagnosis, patients may receive the physiotherapeutic modalities of electric muscle stimulation, heat, ice, traction, ultrasound and spinal adjustments from a licensed chiropractor as well as a therapeutic massage from a licensed massage therapist.
Patients also may be examined and treated by a board certified medical doctor who can prescribe medication, administer joint, trigger point and spinal injections, and perform diagnostic testing including electromyography/nerve conduction studies as well as ultrasonic examination of joins and extremities.
Utilizing both chiropractic and medical strategies, Florida Injury Centers are able to treat injuries to the neck, back, head, shoulders, knees and extremities and are able to offer a broad array of therapy options to its patients.
Florida Injury Centers, located in Jacksonville, Fort Pierce, West Palm Beach, Naples, Fort Myers and Tampa, are modern Chiropractic Medical Facilities that provide comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services to victims of automobile, work-related and slip and fall accidents.
Each office is staffed by a licensed chiropractor, a board certified physiatrist (medical doctor specialized in physical medicine and rehabilitation), a licensed massage therapist and several registered chiropractic assistants.
Each office contains bilingual (Spanish/English) personnel and offers complementary transportation for patients to and from the office. All Florida Injury Center offices are supervised and directed by a board certified medical doctor and are licensed by the Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). AHCA licensure in Florida requires among other things, detailed background checks of all professional and non-professional staff members. AHCA licensure also mandates that extensive quality control policies and procedures be implemented in each of the Florida Injury Center offices.
Outside Referrals
Frequently, patients exhibit symptomology that warrant referral for imaging studies such as CT or MRI scans or consultations from specialists such as neuro or orthopedic surgeons.
Florida Injury Centers maintain professional relationships with local imaging centers and medical specialists assuring prompt appointments for all patients
Final Narrative Reports
At the completion of treatment, Florida Injury Center physicians promptly dictate final narrative reports, describing all injuries that were caused by the accident.
The narrative provides a rational for treatment provided to the patient as well as the medical necessity of all diagnostic testing and specialist consultations.
The narrative report will be a concise integration of all treatment provided to the patient culminating in an impairment rating following the 6th edition of the AMA Impairment Guides.
Residual limitations and restrictions placed on the patients daily personal and work related activities because of injuries sustained in the accident and an estimate of needed future medical care also will be discussed in the narrative report.
Obtaining Records
Florida Injury Centers maintain a HIPPA compliant computerized, electronic, paperless record keeping system. If desired, complete medical files can readily be e-mailed to legal representatives of patients within a few days of discharge.
